Weekly Grab

This is my weekly compilation of photos and prompts. If you’d like to see these delivered daily to your inbox when they’re first released, consider supporting my work with a paid Substack subscription ($5 monthly, only $36 annually). Thanks for following my curiosity journey.

Stay curious, preferably with a camera.

See

…differently. Not how everyone else sees. The lens, the filter, the angle, the distance, the subject…it all matters in the final compilation.

How we see is more important than what we see. It’s how the ordinary can become remarkable. Choose wisely.

Instruction

…is different than direction. “Here, let me help you with some important information so you can be successful” feels different than “go do this”.

People like to be taught. They don’t often like to be told.

Simple

Rarely do we think about using less words. The interesting thing about less is it opens up so much more possibility and questions to be answered, which might be exactly what we hope for…to satisfy the curious ones.

Nowhere

…is one way to approach it. What’s out there is better if we hope to get somewhere.

Stay curious. There’s always something which deserves to be discovered.

Point

Often, we’re too busy thinking about how we’re going to make one without considering whether we need to in the first place. Seek to understand first. Then, craft a case. It may very well change what we deliver.

Delivery

How we make the point is often more important than the point…if we care that it’s actually received.

Start with asking…who’s it for? Who are we trying to reach? Then, perhaps we can deliver something they might be open to hearing.

Odd

What gets noticed?

The things we don’t see every day.

The things which raise our curiosity.

The things which make us wonder.

Odd things, out of place things.

What we choose to ignore are the mundane, run of the mill, normal things.

Make something odd, make something remarkable. It will resonate with someone.
