Familiar

Of course, we already know how the sign reads. It’s a highly recognizable, familiar shape. And, when it comes to conclusions and decision making, we’re highly biased towards familiarity. We leverage it when time is of the essence and we need to figure things out quickly. But, when does familiar get in the way? When does the predictable cloud our judgement? Because some things don’t follow suit and aren’t as they seem. How can use our curiosity to avoid this trap?
