
Many of our goals have numbers attached to them. But, they’re not likely an accurate representation of the change we seek to make. For instance, happiness is challenging to measure. But, things which make people happy, like how many rings it takes for a live person to answer the phone, are far easier to value with metrics. A number is something we can point to. It’s a guidepost, a tick of the ratchet we need to turn to make change. Numbers are important. But, they aren’t the end. They do, however, lead us there.
