Weekly Grab

This is my weekly compilation of photos and prompts. If you’d like to see these delivered daily to your inbox when they’re first released, including some subscriber only exclusives, consider supporting my work with a Substack subscription (also complimentary, but donations welcome). Thanks for following my curiosity journey.

Stay curious, preferably with a camera in hand.

Tunnel Vision

It’s not such a bad thing if it helps us see something more clearly.

Where can we use some tunnel vision to create more focus?

Discernment

A beautiful part of being human is our ability to see, interpret and comprehend information despite the mixed signals which come our way. And then, make a wise choice.

Remain curious. Remain human.

Shout

Sometimes, pleasant isn’t enough. But, it’s rare. And, we should choose wisely.

Tone matters perhaps more than the words.

Signals

Of course it doesn’t work. But, function isn’t the point.

Some statements are intentionally obvious. But, many aren’t. What signals are we sending through our actions, friend groups, projects, possessions, jobs, etc?

Production

Life happens on a stage. But, it rarely goes as planned. It’s full of hiccups, twists, turns, setbacks and unexpected delight. And, this is what makes it special…to us.

If you’re looking for a well thought out, preplanned production, watch a TV show. Life, on the other hand is far more exciting…and magical.

Official

Who decides? Who makes it official? Who develops the standards, the spec? Who determines when it’s good enough?

Leaders do. And, perhaps it’s your turn.

Context

Have you ever wondered why wine tastes better when sipped from a fancy glass? Or, why a car seems to drive differently when it’s clean? Same goes for how the music sounds when we’re listening to vinyl in a cool record shop. Our brains get tricked a lot. And sometimes, it’s okay.

Context matters. And, understanding its impact and how to leverage it is a valuable skill.
