Better
Old or new, which is better? Of course, it’s not a fair question. Better is a highly relative, contextual and dependent word. In fact, it stands on its own quite poorly.
How is it better?
Better for whom?
Better at what?
An old car may be better at raising status among peers or simply bring us joy as we relive old times. A new car might be more reliable and comfortable. But, to say one is better than the other without a reference point is…well, a bit pointless.

Effort
The effort we put into something is rarely obvious to others. And, it doesn’t need to be because it’s not what’s on offer. But sometimes, the amount of work and inconvenience adds value, and makes it feel even more special.
When should effort remain hidden? When should it be exposed?

Possibility
One of the key steps to having an openminded posture is to embrace the fact it might not work. The more challenging the problem, the greater this force becomes, creating a mindset of safe, tried and certain. We could train ourselves to approach problems differently. This probably won’t work, but let’s give it a try.
Dancing with the downside is a skill worth investing in.

Data
Data on its own can be hard to interpret. We need context, meaning and better yet, the story behind it. Of course, it’s also likely the information isn’t intended for us. Not everyone is meant to get the joke. And, it’s okay.

Spectacle
They work because as humans we’re drawn towards unusualness. Unless of course, we’re part of the act. Then, we might be so interested.

Best Use
Best use is largely up to us. Who’s it for? What’s it for? And then, add some imagination. The possibilities are virtually endless if we allow them to be.

Beware
Avoid at all costs.
Danger.
Keep Out.
Stay Away.
What signals are we sending which impede our goal of connection, community and collaboration. What’s one thing we can change to become more approachable?
