This is my weekly compilation of photos and prompts. If you’d like to see these delivered daily to your inbox when they’re first released, including some subscriber only exclusives, consider supporting my work with a Substack subscription (also complimentary, but donations welcome). Thanks for following my curiosity journey.

Stay curious, preferably with a camera in hand.

Leap

Artistry is often seen as work done by gifted people. They somehow embody the skills necessary to craft something remarkable from nothing, almost a magic act. The truth is art is reserved for no one. But, it does require more than talent. One of the most overlooked tools is the courage it takes to do something which might not work. So, it goes beyond what we traditionally think of as art, a painting, music performance and so on. We can perform as an artist in any endeavor we choose…because we can make it our own by having the courage to leap, to go where others don’t dare to go.

How can you bring your art into the world? We deserve to see it.

Front

Maybe what’s beyond the show is more interesting. Perhaps there’s a story behind the front worth telling.

Where has it taken you? What unexpected discoveries have you made? What new connections and friendships have come as a result?

Surely, there’s more to the story.

Instant

Instant is becoming less and less hard to do…and to get. But, just because it’s an available path doesn’t mean we should take it.

The long way might be a more interesting option if we have a little time to spare.

Random

Sometimes, despite our best efforts, there isn’t one to find. There’s no clear pattern or logical conclusion. Perhaps this is the time to shift, to look for something more random.

What else can we see when we can’t see it?

Window

There’s always something new to see through a window, even if we’ve peered through it a thousand times. What can we notice this time? How does this change the story?

Windows are everywhere. And even if they’re not, sometimes we need to make them to notice something new.

Trail

How does the world know what we’ve done? How we’ve mattered? What we’ve dreamed?

Breadcrumbs are only one way to leave a trail.

Outdated

Just because it’s dated doesn’t mean it’s out. In fact, it might be more useful now than before. Hard to predict. But, handy when it works out.
