Weekly Grab

This is my weekly compilation of photos and prompts. If you’d like to see these delivered daily to your inbox when they’re first released, including some subscriber only exclusives, consider supporting my work with a Substack subscription (also complimentary, but donations welcome). Thanks for following my curiosity journey.

Stay curious, preferably with a camera in hand.

Recognition

Support, service and care have little to do with being recognized…unless we make it so. Of course, it’s nice to be noticed, honored even. But, it doesn’t need to be the objective in getting help. How can we create systems where who is less important than what? Challenging for sure.

Limited

One of the ways to call out individuality is to bring attention to it with a number. One of…XX creates a tension of limitation. Of course, one of one is the ultimate sign of uniqueness. And appropriately, one off’s are the hardest to achieve. Limited doesn’t scale well, which is precisely the value proposition.

How we can create more special experiences using limited as our constraint?

Disguise

Despite our best efforts, it’s really hard to hide what’s there. Who’s the disguise for anyway?

Up

Often overlooked.

Stop. Look up. Notice.

Itch

Just because we have a new one doesn’t mean it should receive our attention. Chasing every shiny object is chaotic and a form of resistance. Some itches are better left alone.

Curiosity

Curiosity comes in all forms and sizes. The key question…what does it look like for you?

What are the conditions?

Who are you with?

How can you replicate this more often?

Harmony

We can tell when it all comes together nicely, like it’s meant to be. We also notice when it’s not. A great speech may not be so great if it’s not delivered in the proper setting, at the appropriate volume to the right audience at the right time. Conversely, lack of harmony can be just as powerful. But, stuck in the middle somewhere with just a piece or two out of sorts doesn’t work well.

What might need some adjusting in order to make your craft/thing/service more harmonious? What’s out of place?
