Weekly Grab

This is my weekly compilation of photos and prompts. If you’d like to see these delivered daily to your inbox when they’re first released, including some subscriber only exclusives, consider supporting my work with a Substack subscription (also complimentary, but donations welcome). Thanks for following my curiosity journey.

Stay curious, preferably with a camera in hand.

Unclear

Most problems lack clarity. If everything was understood, it might not be a problem at all. Or, at least we’d have a better chance at solving them. The process of sifting through the noise, finding fact and doing it in a generous and empathetic manner is an important skill. It might be at or near the top of the list of things to master.

What interesting problem do we need to solve next? How can we add more clarity to make it more solvable?

Messages

If the goal is to provide someone information, our message might be unclear if there’s too much noise.

How can we reduce distractions to amplify our signal?

Reconsider

If we can’t see possibility, perhaps we need to change our perspective…or our mind.

What’s one thing we’ve been stuck on which we might reconsider with a different approach and mindset?

Metered

What are we restricting which we could give away more freely with no expectation of anything in return? What about our ideas, solutions, assistance, advice, work or even our friendship? Upon close inspection, it’s likely almost everything has some sort of meter, a string attached. What happens if we let some of those go?

Somewhere

Curiosity is often fueled by going somewhere.

Take a trip, go for a walk, open a book, look up. Somewhere is almost limitless.

Perform

Attracting attention isn’t hard. But, performing in such a way which keeps it requires emotional labor, vulnerability and a bit of skill.

How and where can we lean more into performing? And, what possibilities might we uncover if we act as if it might be our last one?

Sense

Of course it doesn’t make sense to most of us. That’s the point of making it specifically for someone. The most meaningful art, work, speech, gift or lesson is when it’s crafted with us in mind. Not everyone else.

Who’s it for? Worth thinking about before we go any further.
