Weekly Grab

This is my weekly compilation of photos and prompts. If you’d like to see these delivered daily to your inbox when they’re first released, including some subscriber only exclusives, consider supporting my work with a Substack subscription (also complimentary, but donations welcome). Thanks for following my curiosity journey.

Stay curious, preferably with a camera in hand.

Missed

What have we missed for a lack of noticing?

What happens if we take this moment to focus on the moment, what’s around us, what’s possible right now?

Approved

Chances are more than one person is involved in your project. And while everyone shares in some level of accountability for their part, ultimately someone needs to stand for it.

Adding our name to something doesn’t mean it’s perfect. But, it is our responsibility when it’s not.

Car Talk

The effectiveness of an interesting story is highly dependent on who’s listening. Knowing who it’s for is critical, unless we’re into wasting people’s time.

Distorted

What others see is rarely perfectly aligned with our own image of ourselves. What story is the mirror telling? Does it match what’s in our head?

Live

We can get the recorded act almost anytime. What we really hope to experience in a performance is the live version, complete with its imperfections and improvisation. The premium is what might not happen again, what we would miss if we’re not there.

The thought counts. But, live counts more.

Signals

Most aren’t this intentional. But, they can be equally impactful. And, not always for the better.

What unintentional signals are we giving which we’d like to change?

Follow

An important leadership skill is knowing when to follow.
