Weekly Grab

This is my weekly compilation of photos and prompts. If you’d like to see these delivered daily to your inbox when they’re first released, including some subscriber only exclusives, consider supporting my work with a Substack subscription (also complimentary, but donations welcome). Thanks for following my curiosity journey.

Stay curious, preferably with a camera in hand.

Organization

Efficiency is largely dependent on organization. The right parts and tools are accessible when we need them. Of course, our system doesn’t need to make sense to the outsider. But, it sure can be intriguing.

Stepping into someone’s workflow and process can be an eye opening and interesting experience. It’s worth giving a try.

Marker

We all leave a trail. However, if we do it with intention, with mindfulness and care, it might just make a bigger dent.

What markers are you using to make a useful impact? What creative tools and skills do you have in your bag?

At Work

What does your at work space look like? When does your brain know it’s time to create, write, solve, coach, etc.? What environmental cues help get the work done?

I know when I sit down in this space I create and produce something. It’s not always good. But, good isn’t the point. It’s the mind shift to do the work which matters most.

In The Way

Lifelong learning and maintaining a posture of possibility are key components of living a fulfilled life. However, things get in the way. Many, of course, are the result of our own doing and choices. But, these in large part are moveable with some serious reflection and realignment with our core values and life goals. The harder part relates to other people. While we can control our own story, choices and life path, we can not for those around us. However, we can choose who these people are…the ones we work, live and play with. We can choose to be with those who can help us make a meaningful difference. And, we can choose to leave those who get in the way. Choose wisely.

Anger

What does anger look like for you?

Better questions…who’s it for? what’s it for?

Outside of life preservation, anger isn’t much of a useful emotion.

Overshadowed

The bright spots seem to get all of the attention. But, there may be additional possibility lurking in the shadows. Sometimes, the quiet and understated ones are the wisest.

Which parts deserve some light? Where can some additional exposure help the cause?

Circuitry

We’re all wired a certain way. But, how much is genetic vs. conditioned is up for debate. How much can we change? It’s almost impossible to alter our height or other parts of our physical make-up. Yet, there’s so much we believe to be baked into our circuitry which can be modified. Attitude, aptitude, competency, generosity, skepticism, being nice, driving and mathematical ability are all skills we can change and hopefully improve.

Our limits are largely invented. And, the first step is to believe we can change our story.
