Steps
Progress is rarely made in giant leaps. Rather, it’s usually a string of small steps.
What’s one small practice we can develop to give us more traction?

Vast
When things are too open the path forward might be unclear. And, we can become stuck.
How can we use vastness, lack of clarity and being stuck as a moment of reflection and reevaluation to help propel us forward again?

Origin
Where are you from? Origin is probably the most frequently traded topic between strangers. And, it’s a good one because it’s safe and opens up so many possibilities to go a bit further. It’s up to us though to make it interesting. Tell me more…

Alone
Isolation has its advantages. Focus, productivity, spirit, rest. These all seem to be enhanced when we’re alone. But…we aren’t designed to be solo for long. We long for community, connection and to be seen…to matter.
Find the others.

Fit
There’s a difference between fit and harmony. Some things are meant to go together more than others. Their individual attributes make the whole organism better, not only in function, but also in design. And, this applies to people also. There, we often refer to it as chemistry. How people behave with each other eventually shows up in the work they do.
Just because something or someone fits technically doesn’t mean they add the value we’re looking for. Choose wisely.

Been
In the moment, our path is unmistakable. It’s obvious we’ve been there. But more often, our impact is more subtle. Our tiny actions, perhaps a smile or random act of kindness, seem fleeting. But, they add up over time. Eventually, all of our tiny steps make us who we are…and unlike footsteps in the sand, our trail becomes indelible.
Who we’ve been is more important than where we’ve been.

Attention
Attention is an important part of messaging strategy. And, it’s derived in different ways. There’s strange, quirky and weird, where the outcome isn’t at all aligned with the part which grabbed us. Out of place is the goal in this case. The other kind takes a lot more work. Building something for a specific audience which is worth talking about, and then crafting a way for them to notice and share it is where real marketing occurs. It works because it all fits together. Weird works too, which is the scary part.
It’s helpful to contemplate which sort of attention we’re looking for…before we begin the journey.
