Robbed

Life is given. But, it’s also taken. So, it’s up to us (and those around us) to fill in the gap.

As adults, we get to choose who’s with us. Choose wisely. We only live this life once.

Signals

There’s far more noise than signal. And, it’s our choice whether to tune in or not. But first, it’s up to us to choose what we’re listening for. Which sort of dialogue makes us better?

A large part of what defines us is the conversations we keep. Choose signals wisely.

Old-timer

There was a time in human history when the existence of grandparents was very rare. We simply didn’t live long enough. Imagine how this affected the transfer of wisdom. Prior to written or even oral language, every generation was consequently rediscovering virtually everything for themselves. We’re fortunate to live now when old-timers are abundant.

Spend some time with them…soak it in. It’s a precious gift.

Monumental

It’s easy to fall into a trap of thinking something needs to be grand or famous to be monumental. What’s keeping this day, this location, this situation from being monumental? How can we reframe our constraints…and our mindset?

Subject

It’s not always obvious when someone is watching us. In fact, it’s likely we’re too busy or distracted to notice. So, the obvious solution is to act as if we’re always on stage. We should behave and posture ourselves in such a way we hope to be seen. This doesn’t mean we should pretend or act fake. People sniff this out. Rather, we should work to achieve the identity we hope to become. It’s a never-ending process of making small adjustments and developing habits which make the impact we’re hoping for.

We are the subject, whether we choose to be or not.

Broadening field of view and perspective can be a valuable tool. Sometimes, less is not more.
