This is my weekly compilation of photos and prompts. If you’d like to see these delivered daily to your inbox when they’re first released, including some subscriber only exclusives, consider supporting my work with a Substack subscription (also complimentary, but donations welcome). Thanks for following my curiosity journey.
Stay curious, preferably with a camera in hand.

Fame
“Fame itself, of course, doesn’t really afford you anything more than a good seat in a restaurant. That must be pretty well known by now.”, David Bowie, 2003
Or, a nice statue in front of a post office.

Markers
Birthdays are the perfect marker…a good day to start. And, also to forget…because we started something new.

Not Sure
…is a perfectly acceptable answer. So is “I don’t know”.
Competence isn’t just about knowing the answer. It’s also knowing when there’s more to understand. Curiosity is born from uncertainty, and the desire to do something about it.

Closed
It’s a simple question really…
Are we open or closed?
Of course, the answer isn’t as straightforward. While we don’t wear a sign, we give off signals. Body language, tone, physical barriers, closed doors, stance. It all matters…just like words.

Force
Force, intimidation and fear are effective tactics in achieving an outcome in short order. Of course, the consequences are high in terms of humanity, dignity and respect.
There’s a better way. But, we need to trust vs. control. Show vs. tell. Understand vs. Ignore. And, be open to changing our mind.

Vehicle
Sure, they take us from here to there. Utility is a good use case. But there’s more…if we choose to adventure a bit. What stories do they allow us to access? And, how does the vehicle itself alter the experience? Worth consideration when choosing the next ride.

Grasp
An idea isn’t worth much if it isn’t understood. It turns out, grasping a point is an important part of effective communication.
How can we tell if someone gets it…as we intended it?
