Weekly Grab

This is my weekly compilation of photos and prompts. If you’d like to see these delivered daily to your inbox when they’re first released, including some subscriber only exclusives, consider supporting my work with a Substack subscription (also complimentary, but donations welcome). Thanks for following my curiosity journey.

Stay curious, preferably with a camera in hand.

Which Came First?

Someone needs to make the leap, to decide what’s most important, to risk being seen in an unpopular way.

Someone needs to lead…might as well be you.

Measure

A lot of our designs require precision. It’s vitally important for the pieces of a bridge to fit together if it’s going to work. But, applying measurement to make it easier for us to sort, label and standardize might not be such a good idea. It can be overdone because it’s convenient.

Perhaps the best question to start with is what’s this measurement for?

Key

Access is limited by more than physical constraints. How does our posture, approachability and curiosity play into giving someone a key to our thoughts and ideas? How do we signal our door is open?

Look

How do we recognize noticing with intention? Which behaviors serve our curiosity?

What does curious look like for you?

Season

Why wait? Why not be more generous no matter the season? Why put off to tomorrow what we can do today?

It doesn’t need to be grand, it just needs to start.

Light

No matter how hard we try to stay in the dark, it seems to always make its way through…if we’re patient enough.

Exact

How much of our procrastination is disguised as an attempt to be perfect? Exact isn’t always the best goal. Sometimes, precision is acting as the resistance to actually shipping something which is perfectly fine…good enough.

Setting a deadline might be more important than making it better and better.
