Weekly Grab

This is my weekly compilation of photos and prompts. If you’d like to see these delivered daily to your inbox when they’re first released, including some subscriber only exclusives, consider supporting my work with a Substack subscription. Thanks for following my curiosity journey.

Stay curious, preferably with a camera in hand.

Painted

Almost everything in the universe is painted for us. The colors are there when we choose to see them.

Gaze

The lack of expression likely has nothing to do with us. Perhaps it’s contemplation, daydreaming, or simply a form of rest. Maybe it’s up to us to change the reception from an intentional stare to a gaze of wonder. Maybe it’s best we never know for sure. Stay curios.

Fill

We can only handle so much. Doing more has it’s limits. How do we know when to stop filling? What’s our measurement of choice?

Knowing when to stop is almost as important as knowing when to start.

Stopping

We hear a lot about the importance of starting. And, it is indeed essential to making any progress. But, knowing when to stop might be just as important. Quitting without regard to what’s already been done is challenging, but sometimes the wisest choice.

It turns out, brakes might be a more important tool than the accelerator.

Interpretation

What do you make of it? Nothing? Something?

Most things aren’t that interesting to most people. It’s a good thing we’re not serving most people.

Twisted

Almost nothing is as it seems. Some things are more twisted than others. Our job is to seek to understand and perhaps to unravel. Or, maybe to leave it be. Not every mystery needs to be solved. Some things are just better left twisted.

Like learning, curiosity doesn’t always require a solution.

Steps

Success is rarely determined by how many. More often, it’s about the desire to take one more.
