
Power almost always used to come from holding the right position or title. But, there’s a shift happening, from the power of authority to the kind of power we enjoy when we’re connected with more people. Learning, idea flow, system improvements, work satisfaction all improve at a higher rate through connection with people rather than the silos of top down organization.
Connection also leads to significance and a feeling of being part of something bigger than ourselves. Feeling important might be the best form of power we can generate.
