Middle

Arrival at the midpoint signifies we’re halfway there, which by most standards is quite an accomplishment. Almost everyone can make it half way, which is also why it’s such a dangerous spot. It’s a crowded place. But, somewhere near the middle is also when most of us quit. We get tired, bored, run out of funding or support. Or, we revalue the goal to a lower status. In any case, the temptation to alter course is at it’s greatest somewhere in this area.

How can we use the midpoint as leverage to finish instead of quit? What story can we tell ourselves about the middle in advance so we know how to handle it when we arrive?
