Exhausting

There are different forms of exhaustion. One is from giving our all, leaving it all out there, holding nothing back until there’s no reserve…giving the performance of a lifetime. Another is what we feel from fear, stress, tension and keeping those feelings bottled up inside us. We feel great when we’ve spent all of our energy on a mission we’ve chosen, planned for and in large part controlled. It’s that second form which is so mentally draining, perhaps even depressing. We feel out of control, a mere puppet on the end of some strings.

What if we cut the strings…and danced with our fear instead? We might still be exhausted. But, we also might feel better about it.
