Ready

Machines are always ready…as long as they’re in good order. If the parts are working, they will do the work. Willing to do it is not part of the equation. People, on the other hand, have feelings. They aren’t just cogs in a machine. Their workflow changes relative to what they’re feeling at the moment. Understanding someone’s value system and current state of mind gives us a tremendous advantage in helping them feel like taking part, to improve their state of readiness. Checking in with someone to see how they’re doing might be the best thing we can do to make sure they’re ready.
